MALAYSIA @ INTERNATIONAL PARIS AIRSHOW 2017

Malaysia Chalet at Paris Airshow 2017,a collaborative effort between NAICO, MATRADE, MIDA, SME Corp. Malaysia and industry players.

PARIS, FRANCE, June 10, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- In conjunction with the International Paris Airshow 2017 which will be held from 18-23 June 2017, the National Aerospace Industry Coordinating Office (NAICO) of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) Malaysia will be leading the Malaysian delegation to the event. Malaysia will have its very own ‘Malaysia Chalet’ which is a collaborative effort between MITI, MATRADE, MIDA, SME Corp. Malaysia and industry players. The aerospace industry players consist of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), UMW M&E Sdn. Bhd, UMW Land Sdn. Bhd., Invest Selangor, Aerospace Malaysia Innovation Centre (AMIC), WZS Technologies Sdn. Bhd., CTRM Sdn. Bhd. dan M-Aerotech Sdn. Bhd. and 10 SMEs from the EPP8: Developing SMEs in the Global Aerospace Manufacturing Industry Programme under SME Corp. Malaysia.

The objective of Malaysia’s participation is to showcase the capabilities and competencies of the Malaysian companies at the global arena, highlight Malaysia’s world class infrastructure as well as initiatives to increase trade in the aerospace industry. NAICO is aggressively promoting the development of the Malaysian aerospace industry pursuant to the launching of the Malaysian Aerospace Industry Blueprint 2030 during the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2015 (LIMA’15). The aerospace industry has been identified by the Government as one of the growth sectors and is given major focus under the country's industrialization & technological development programmes under the Eleventh Malaysia Plan (11MP).

The Malaysian aerospace industry has seen a strong growth in 2016. The exports of Malaysia’s aerospace products recorded a significant increase of 32.6% in 2016 with a value of RM5.53 billion compared with RM4.17 billion in 2015. Aerospace parts and components are the main products of export. The positive growth is also portrayed in the total revenue recorded in 2016 which was RM12.7 billion. The performance of the Malaysian aerospace industry is highlighted in the newly published Malaysian Aerospace Industry Report 2016/2017.

Malaysia’s initiative on aerospace industry will be highlighted throughout the event. There will be a number of MoU/MoA exchange. These MoU/MoA’s are part of the Blueprint 2030 initiatives to promote industry collaboration. In this regards, NAICO will continue to play a critical role in facilitating the implementation of these projects and initiatives. During the Airshow various engagements have been also made with the French and Japanese companies.

The Government will continue to promote the Malaysian eco-system to accelerate local supply chain development as well as to bring in cutting-edge technology to the country. This is in line with Malaysia’s Industry 4.0 initiative to enhance Malaysia’s competitiveness at the global arena. The export promotion of aerospace services will remain an important activity to promote Malaysia as the regional aerospace hub in South East Asia.

Over 2,300 international, 15,000 trade visitor and 30 national pavilions and 330 business chalets and more than 149,000 trade visitors are expected at the Paris Airshow from 18 to 23 June 2017.
