Gov. Lamont to attend Paris Air Show next week

CONTRIBUTED Gov. Ned Lamont at the Paris Air Show in 2023.

Gov. Ned Lamont has announced he’ll be visiting the Paris Air Show this month to support Connecticut companies exhibiting at the event and recruit new businesses to the state.

The Paris Air Show is widely regarded as one of the most important events in the aerospace industry, and this year will feature more than 2,400 companies from around the world.

The state of Connecticut is sponsoring its own booth featuring 10 small and midsize aerospace companies with operations in the state, including Air Industries Group, Enjet Aero, Jonal Laboratories and Mott Corp.

“Connecticut is one of the top places in the world for aerospace companies to grow and develop, and it is our mission to help our state’s existing aerospace companies thrive and meet with international companies that are looking to establish operations in the U.S. market,” Lamont said, announcing his visit.

Lamont will be attending from June 15 to June 17, and will meet with several aerospace companies that have expressed interest in establishing operations in the United States.

He’ll be accompanied by Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Daniel O’Keefe, the state’s Chief Manufacturing Officer Paul Lavoie, and Advance CT President and CEO John Bourdeaux.

The governor’s office estimates that the aerospace industry employs nearly 30,000 people in Connecticut, the third-highest concentration of aerospace employment in the U.S. The aerospace and defense industry accounts for more than 32% of the state’s total exports.
