Quickstep Holdings (ASX:QHL) has supplied wing flaps to Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) for the new LM-100J commercial freighter, which recently made its global debut at the 2017 Paris Air Show.

The LM-100J is based on the C-130J Super Hercules military tactical airlifter and delivers proven workhorse capabilities of its military counterpart to commercial operators.

The company’s clients include Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and BAE Systems.

Quickstep appointed Mark Burgess as chief executive officer and managing director on 8 May 2017.

Burgess was most recently vice president at Honeywell Aerospace Asia Pacific where he was instrumental in driving profitable growth across the defence, space and commercial helicopter portfolio.

Quickstep is an approved supplier for the international F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter program, the largest military aerospace program in the world valued in excess of US$300 billion.

Earlier this year, the company secured a grant of A$1.45 million from the Australian Government for a new project to develop bespoke lightweight automotive carbon fibre composite seats.

The global automotive seating systems market is a significant product segment, currently valued at about US$67 billion per annum.
